July’s Mutt of the Month: Rocky

Rocky the coonhound was just two months old when he was adopted by Kate at Mutt Madness 2019. It was her first time attending Equip Exposition, and she was excited to see all of the dogs that were looking for their forever homes.

“I have a thing for hounds; I just love the hound breed,” she says. “I had looked at an older coon hound that just wasn’t the right fit, so I was excited to see that there were 6-7 coonhounds at Mutt Madness.”

Kate says when she saw Rocky he curled up on her lap, so she immediately starting thinking about how she could make him part of her pack. “I had my eyes set on him. He wasn’t too rambunctious and he seemed a little bigger than some of his littermates.”

Rocky is a smarty pup who loves his new pack, which includes his big brother, Leo, and Kate’s brother’s dog, Bella. “Rocky loves to be with other dogs. He is a very social dog and loves everyone!” Kate reports.

The sixth annual Mulligan’s Mutt Madness event will be held at Equip Exposition on Thursday, October 17. Equip attendees are invited to come cuddle the puppies and perhaps find their next best friend.
