What’s the Top Dog Breed in America?

Let’s hear it for the mutts! Rover recently analyzed the top dog breeds in America, and our favorite kind of pup – mixed breed mutts – are at the top of the list.

The TurfMutt Foundation has a long history with marvelous mutts. Afterall, our “spokesdog” Mulligan the TurfMutt is a mixed breed pup who was rescued by TurfMutt President & CEO Kris Kiser. She follows in the pawprints of the original TurfMutt, Lucky, also a rescue mutt.

In partnership with Kentucky Humane Society (KHS), the TurfMutt Foundation has helped more than 130 rescue dogs like Lucky and Mulligan find forever homes with attendees from Equip Expo. The ever-popular Mulligan’s Mutt Madness pet adoption event will once again be held at Equip 2026 in Louisville. The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, and is open to all Equip attendees.
